Your bodyweight is the least interesting thing about you!
Yes, let’s read that again.
Your bodyweight is the least interesting thing about you. And it's also not always the most accurate predictor of initial success in body composition change. Don't let it define you. Negative things you tell yourself are just as detrimental to your health as eating poorly and not exercising.
While the scale can be helpful to you or your coach in assessing trajectory and correlating data, there are lots of ways to determine progress including:
How your clothes fit
Athletic performance
How you feel in your skin
Improved wellness (sleep, stress, etc.)
Your eyes! Being able to see physical changes!
Often when we are changing body composition there are many factors involved in changing the actual number on the scale (muscle gain, water retention, inflammation, etc.) and you can be getting leaner much before you get lighter.
As always, patience with the process and a kind, positive inner monologue are your keys to success!
